The Sock Monster

Everyone has experienced the frustration that comes from placing two socks in the dryer only to have one emerge while the second disappears forever. Now we know why: The Sock Monster. This elusive cryptid is not only formed of mismatched socks, it loves to eat them as well. Gorging itself on the very thing that creates it, the Sock Monster grows ever larger until it explodes in a shower of unpaired, malformed, threadbare socks and then coalesces into smaller versions of itself. These newly formed Sock Monsters then venture into the wilds of laundromats, homes, apartments, and lost and found bins where the cycle of life continues.
