The Last of Their Kind

Scientists estimate the Earth to be over four billion years old, and humans have been around for approximately twelve thousand years. However, Earth and its inhabitants are one among a countless number of worlds in our galaxy alone. Our galaxy is only one of an untold number of galaxies in the universe. If you subscribed to the theory of multiple universes, the numbers quickly add up to nothing short of mind-boggling.

Perhaps there is an ancient civilization out there that has come and gone. Perhaps the last of their kind still walks a desolate world. Maybe they, too, are nothing more than stardust now.
